Reviewing and Editing Your Script
Once VideoMule generates your script, you'll have full control to preview, edit, and fine-tune everything before creating your final video. This page walks you through all the tools available in the script review stage.
Script Preview Player
After your script is generated, you'll see a built-in player that lets you preview how your script sounds alongside your video.
Each script segment shows a timestamp range, like "41 seconds - 46 seconds," telling you exactly when that line will play in the final video.
Hit play and watch your video while the script is read aloud.
The player moves through each segment automatically, so you can hear how the voiceover flows with your screen recording.
You can also use the navigation controls to jump forward or backward through segments one at a time.
This makes it easy to check specific parts of your script without watching the whole thing.
Preview Voice vs. Final Voice
When you preview your script, you'll hear a temporary voice.
This is just for previewing purposes and won't be the voice in your final video.
The voice you selected during project setup is what you'll hear in the finished video after you generate it.
Think of the preview voice as a stand-in that lets you check timing and script content before committing to the final render.
Editing Script Lines
Every script segment is editable. Just click on the text you want to change and start typing.
When you make a change, you'll see Save and Discard buttons appear.
Click Save to keep your edits, or Discard and go back to the original text.
Your changes won't apply until you save them.
This is useful when the AI-generated script doesn't quite match what you want to say, or if you need to fix a product name or add specific details.
Deleting Script Segments
Don't need a particular script line? You can delete it entirely.
When you remove a segment, that portion of your video will play silently.
The video footage stays intact, but no voiceover will play during that time.
This can be helpful if a section of your recording doesn't need narration or if you want certain moments to be without audio.
Navigating Between Segments
Use the segment navigation controls to move through your script step by step. Instead of scrubbing through the video manually, you can jump directly from one script segment to the next.
This is especially handy for longer videos where you want to review or edit specific sections without watching everything in order.
Skip Silence Mode
By default, the preview player will play through your entire video, including any gaps where the voiceover finishes before the next script segment begins.
If you'd rather not wait through those quiet moments, turn on Skip Silence mode.
When enabled, the player automatically jumps to the next segment as soon as the current voiceover finishes.
This speeds up your review process and lets you focus on the script content without sitting through pauses.
Keep in mind this setting only affects preview playback. Your final rendered video will include the full timing as shown in the editor.
Downloading Your Script
Want a copy of your script outside of VideoMule? Click the download button to export it.
The downloaded file includes your complete script organized by parts and steps, making it easy to review offline, share with a team member.
Changing Your Voice Selection
If you haven't generated your final video yet, you can still switch to a different voice.
Look for the ‘Change voice’ option (in the top right) in the script review screen and pick a new one from the list for your chosen language.
Once you generate the video, the voice selection is locked in for that render. So make sure you're happy with your choice before moving forward.
Next Steps
Once you’ve reviewed and confirmed your script, you can now proceed to the audio generation and automatic syncing to the video.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the preview voice sound different from the sample I picked?
The preview player uses a basic voice from your computer to load quickly. Your selected high-quality AI voice is only generated when you create the final video.
Why does the video pause sometimes while I am watching the preview?
This happens when the text for a segment takes longer to speak than the video clip lasts. The player pauses the video to let the audio finish completely before moving to the next screen action.
Will deleting a script segment also delete that part of my video?
No. Deleting a script segment only removes the voiceover for that portion. The video footage remains untouched and will play silently during that segment.
Do I need to save every time I edit a line?
Yes. You must click the Save button after typing changes for a specific segment. If you navigate away without clicking Save, your changes will be lost.
Does Skip Silence mode affect my final video?
No. Skip Silence only changes how the preview plays back. Your final rendered video will include all the original timing and any silent gaps as designed.
Can I change the voice after I've already generated my final video?
You would need to go back to the script stage, select a new voice, and generate the video again. The voice selection applies at the time of generation.
Can I undo changes after saving a script edit?
There's no automatic undo after you save. If you make a mistake, you'll need to manually edit the text again. Consider copying your original script before making major changes.
What format is the downloaded script in?
The script downloads as a text file that includes your parts, steps, and all script lines organized in a readable format.
