Account profile, sign-in, and security

Manage your personal details, application preferences, password, connected sign-ins, and active sessions from Settings. These controls belong to your personal account. Organization details, members, and billing have separate settings.

Open your account settings

Sign in to VideoMule and open an organization. From the Projects sidebar, select Settings, then choose a page under Account:

PageWhat you can manage
ProfileAvatar, name, phone, email-change request, interface language, theme, and personal account deletion
SecurityPassword, Google and Microsoft connections, authenticator-app MFA, and active sessions

The Organization section contains General, Members, and Billing. For team and workspace settings, see Managing Your Organization.

Update your name, avatar, and phone

  1. Open Account → Profile.
  2. Under Personal details, edit Name. This is a required field.
  3. To update your phone number, choose the country calling code and enter the number in Phone.
  4. To choose a profile image, select the avatar’s file control and choose your image.
  5. Select Save in Personal details.

Use the separate Change button beside Email to change the address used for login.

Change your login email

You need access to the new email address to complete verification.

  1. Open Account → Profile → Personal details.
  2. Beside Email, select Change.
  3. In Change email address, enter your New email address.
  4. Select Request change.
  5. Follow the verification link sent to the new address.

The dialog explains that following the email link signs you out. Sign in again with your new email address afterward. Select Cancel if you do not want to request a change.

Choose your interface language and theme

  1. Open Account → Profile and find Preferences.
  2. Open Language and choose from the available options. This setting controls the language used in the application.
  3. Under Theme, choose Light, Dark, or System.
  4. Select the Save button inside Preferences.

For example, to change your personal appearance preference, choose Dark and save in this section. The Personal details form has its own Save button.

Preferences and personal account deletion appear on Profile. The screenshot is scrolled below the personal contact fields.

Change your password

Use this form when you know your existing VideoMule password.

  1. Open Account → Security.
  2. Under Change password, enter your Current password.
  3. Enter your New password. The form specifies 8 or more characters.
  4. Enter the new password again in Verify password.
  5. Select Change.

Each password field has a visibility toggle. Avoid revealing passwords while sharing or recording your screen.

If you forgot your password

The Change password section directs you to sign out and use the forgot-password link when you do not know your existing password.

  1. Save any work before signing out.
  2. Open the VideoMule sign-in page.
  3. Use the forgot-password link and follow the recovery instructions shown there.

The emailed reset link is valid for 6 hours and works once. After you set a new password, or after 6 hours pass, the link stops working and you need to request another one. Requesting again while a link is still valid re-sends the same link rather than replacing it.

If you cannot complete recovery, use VideoMule’s contact page. Explain whether you are unable to access your email, your password, or your authenticator. Do not send your password, verification codes, or authenticator setup secret.

Connect Google or Microsoft

Open Account → Security → Connected accounts. Google and Microsoft each have their own connection status and Connect button.

To start linking a provider, select Connect beside that provider and follow its sign-in prompts. Check the connection status when you return to VideoMule. Choose the provider account you intend to use for VideoMule.

The Security page states that password login remains available regardless of connected accounts. If you do not know your VideoMule password, use the recovery entry point described above.

Set up an authenticator app

Under Account → Security → Multi-factor authentication, Authenticator app shows whether it is enabled. Have your authenticator app ready before starting.

  1. Select Enable beside Authenticator app.
  2. In the setup dialog, scan the QR code using your authenticator app. The dialog lists Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and 1Password as examples.
  3. If your app asks for an issuer, use VideoMule. Use the account name displayed in your own setup dialog.
  4. Enter the generated code in Enter 6-digit code from the app.
  5. Select Turn on to submit the code. Check the resulting status before leaving Security.

Select Cancel to leave the setup dialog without submitting a code. Keep the QR code and setup secret private; do not include them in screenshots or support messages.

An authenticator app is the only second factor available. There is no SMS or email option.

Save your recovery codes

Turning on the authenticator issues 10 recovery codes, shown once. Each one works a single time and is consumed when used, so store them somewhere you can reach without your phone — a password manager rather than the same device that holds the authenticator.

If you lose access to your authenticator, a recovery code is how you sign in. If you have neither, contact VideoMule support for help with the account. A password reset should not be treated as a way to bypass MFA.

The setup entry point and session controls are visible here. The authenticator QR code is intentionally not pictured.

Review sessions and sign out a device

Open Account → Security → Manage sessions. The list distinguishes Current session from Other session entries and displays an expiry date for each. Each entry has its own Sign out button.

  1. Review the session you want to end.
  2. Save work in that browser or device if you still have access to it.
  3. Select Sign out on the corresponding entry.

Use Other session entries to end access on other browsers or devices. Current session refers to the session you are using now. The list may use generic labels rather than device names, so do not identify a specific device from an expiry date alone.

Personal account deletion and organization deletion

Personal account deletion is under Account → Profile → Danger zone → Delete account. VideoMule warns that account deletion cannot be undone and that your data will be permanently removed. Read the warning before proceeding.

Organization settings are separate. If your aim is to manage a workspace, its membership, or its subscription, use the Organization section and Managing Your Organization. Do not use personal account deletion as a substitute for an organization or billing action.

Before deleting an account that owns an organization, contact support to clarify ownership, shared-data, and subscription consequences.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
Profile or preference changes did not persistUse Save in the section you edited, then reopen that section to check the saved value.
Email change is unfinishedCheck the new address for the change-request email, including spam or junk. After verification, use the new address to sign in.
You cannot fill Current passwordUse the forgot-password entry point instead of guessing your existing password.
You are unsure whether a provider is linkedReview its status in Connected accounts. Google and Microsoft are listed separately.
You cannot complete MFA sign-inContact support without sharing codes, the QR code, or the setup secret.
Session entries look alikeDo not infer the device from the generic label or expiry date. Contact support if you need help identifying access.
