Creating Your Organization

Every VideoMule account requires at least one organization. During onboarding, you'll need to:

  1. Enter your organization name
  2. Choose a unique organization slug (this is a URL-friendly identifier for your organization)
  3. Optionally upload an organization logo (you can crop and adjust the image)
  4. Invite team members (you can skip this step and add members later)

Your organization slug must be unique across VideoMule, so if your preferred slug is taken, you'll need to choose an alternative.

Understanding Organizations and Users

VideoMule uses a hierarchical structure to organize your work:

Organization (Top Level)

Your organization is the primary container for everything in VideoMule. All projects, uploaded assets, and rendered videos belong to your organization—not to individual users.

Users (Within Organizations)

Users are members who belong to an organization. Key points to understand:

  • An organization can have multiple users
  • All users within an organization can see and access all projects and uploaded content
  • Users cannot own projects individually; projects belong to the organization
Understanding Organizations and Users

Multiple Organizations

If needed, you can create additional organizations from your account menu. This is useful if you manage separate businesses, departments, or client accounts that need to be kept completely separate.

Managing Members

You can add or manage organization members at any time through Organization Settings. When you invite new members, they'll have access to all projects within that organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I skip creating an Organization?

No, creating an Organization is mandatory. You need at least one Organization to hold your projects and user profile.

Who pays for the subscription?

Billing is attached to the Organization. This means the Organization owner manages the payment, and individual users inside that Organization do not need their own separate subscriptions.

Can other members see my projects?

Yes. Since projects belong to the Organization, any member you invite to that Organization can access and see the projects within it.

Can I belong to multiple organizations?

Yes, you can create multiple organizations or be invited to join other organizations. You can switch between organizations from the account menu.

What if the organization slug I want is already taken?

Organization slugs must be unique. If your preferred slug is unavailable, try adding numbers, abbreviations, or variations of your organization name.

Can I change my organization name or slug after setup?

You can manage your organization settings, including the organization name, from the Organization Settings page in your account menu.
